Incorporating our patented antimicrobial technologies into a 3-D configured membrane, NovekoTM air filters have demonstrated their effectiveness in both removing particulate matter and inactivating airborne pathogens. Our products have a longer life and are more energy efficient than other air filter models. They are also the only filters which can provide increased protection from illness and disease over their life.
The swine industry is deploying our air filters following studies by the University of Minnesota and the University of Montreal that have demonstrated the effectiveness of our antimicrobial air filtration technologies against airborne pathogens including the Pork Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV). We also believe there are opportunities to adapt the technologies for other farm environments, including the poultry industry, and so reduce the incidence of illnesses like avian influenza.
We are actively commercializing our air filters in other sectors including the transportation industry and the building market. The recent significant breakthrough in the rail transportation industry with the conclusion of a partnership agreement with a global leader in the manufacture and maintenance of rail vehicles attests to the growing interest in our technologies. Pursuant to this agreement, our filtration technologies are offered to all the clients of our partner. It showcases the recognition that the superior performance of our filters, the energy and cost savings associated with their use, along with their “green” aspect and distinctive antimicrobial properties, are particularly valued characteristics in the transportation industry. In addition to their greater filtration effectiveness and durability, the Noveko™ filters are entirely washable and recyclable, making them a first-class environmental solution.
We once again demonstrated we offer an ideal solution for any sustainable building project and started commercializing our air filters in public buildings, a very promising market. With the superior performance of the NovekoTM air filters, we believe there is a strong potential for their use in healthcare institutions, institutional and commercial buildings as well as private homes.
We have obtained patents for our antimicrobial air filtration technologies in the USA, Canada and in other countries. The technologies are patent pending in several further jurisdictions.
