5/6/2010Noveko and Bombardier Transportation Sign an Agreement to Provide the Rail Transportation Industry with Filtration Solutions
MONTREAL, May 6, 2010 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) --EKO / TSX
Noveko International Inc. ("the Company") is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with Bombardier Transportation a world leader in rail technology, to develop air filtration solutions for the rail transportation industry.
Pursuant to this agreement, the parties will jointly develop filtration solutions that will be offered to the clients of Bombardier Transportation, according to their specific needs. With operations in more than 60 countries, Bombardier Transportation is the global leader in the manufacture and maintenance of rail transportation equipment. It offers one of the most complete portfolios of rail vehicles worldwide, including mainline trains, subway cars, light rail vehicles and locomotives.
"The agreement we have just signed with Bombardier Transportation is the outcome of the many discussions we held with its teams, confirming that our strategy of teaming up with a leading partner in its market is the key to success in order to fully develop the potential of our filtration technologies in the rail transportation industry. With its know-how, in-depth knowledge and vision of the global market, Bombardier is recognized for its offering of innovative rail solutions. We are therefore very pleased to formalize this collaboration that, we are convinced, will represent a strategic advantage for marketing our filters," indicated Mr. Alain Bolduc, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company.
Noveko(TM) filtration solutions offer superior filtration effectiveness, greater resistance and durability, characteristics that are all valued by the transportation industry. These features enable users to achieve energy savings related to their ventilation systems and to reduce the number of filters used, resulting in major cost savings. These filters are also washable and recyclable, making them a first-class environmental solution.
In addition to the characteristics listed above, the filtration solutions to be developed and offered to the clients of Bombardier Transportation will include an antimicrobial property, based on the Noveko(TM) patented technology. Such filtration solution could become an addition to the new Bombardier Healthy Transit initiative, which includes the Bombardier Antimicrobial Surface Treatment program ("AST(TM)"). "We are very proud of this agreement, which fits into our growth objectives in the area of air filters. This strategic breakthrough in the rail transportation industry adds to the milestones achieved in our other business segments related to antimicrobial air filtration, namely aeronautics transportation, and buildings, including healthcare institutions, commercial properties and private homes, as well as the breeding farms market," added Mr. Bolduc.
"At Bombardier, our commitment to find ever-more efficient and cost-effective rail transportation solutions in order to better serve our clients motivated us to team up with Noveko. We believe that the integration of their filtration technologies fits perfectly with our ongoing sustainable development strategy and with the importance to create "green" and "healthy" solution for our clients" added Mr. Francois Trofim-Breuer, Director of Material Solution of Bombardier Transportation.
